These nutrients are certainly necessary, but the following are some things you can do (and not do) that will equally protect your skin and health:

  • Think of your health daily and find new ways to take care of yourself.
  • Purchase sun protective clothing for outdoor activities.

  • Avoid tanning beds. They can be seven times stronger than the sun.
  • Don’t eat junk food or fried foods.
  • Limit sugar, salt and highly processed foods.
  • Avoid wearing perfume in the sun.
  • Never use soap, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid or retinoic acid as these weaken the skins natural defenses.
  • Refrain from picking or scratching the skin.
  • Keep it simple – less is more.
