For centuries traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been used to treat the whole body. Because most internal pathologies show up in or on the skin, TCM uses the skin as part of the information gathered in order to make a diagnosis. TCM evaluates facial color, skin temperature, and texture to gain information about the progress of an illness.
